What H2O Means
H2O in a Whirlpool dishwasher display is a low-water message: the machine is telling you it did not receive the volume of water the cycle needs. It is the plain-language relative of the F8E1 fill code.
Common Causes of H2O
- Supply valve closed or partly open
- Kinked fill line
- Blocked inlet valve screen
- Low household water pressure
- Failed fill valve
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the dishwasher shut-off valve under the sink is fully open, then look along the braided fill line for a kink where the machine was pushed back into its recess. Run the hot tap for half a minute to confirm the household supply is working and delivering hot water. Restart the cycle once the supply is confirmed. If water is available at the tap but the machine still reports low water, the inlet valve or its screen is restricted, which is a technician job behind the toe panel.
