Wall ovens are the quietest appliance in a kitchen until they are not, and the complaints we hear are consistent: slow to heat, heating unevenly, or refusing to heat with a code on the display. In every case the diagnosis runs the same way. The cavity is measured with a thermometer against the setting, the bake and broil elements are tested for continuity, the temperature sensor is checked for resistance against the specification for that model, and the relays on the control board that switch those elements are examined.
The practical difference with a built-in oven is access. It is hard-wired into the cabinetry, so the supply is isolated at the breaker and verified dead before any panel is opened, and the unit often has to be drawn out of its housing to reach connections at the back. That is the part that makes it technician work rather than a weekend job, more than the parts themselves.
Common Oven Problems
Cavity not heating at all, or heating far too slowly
Temperature drifting well away from the setting
Broil working while bake does not, or the reverse
Fault code shown and the cavity locked out
Door glass fogging, or the door no longer closing flush
Cooling fan running long after the cavity has cooled
Oven Error Codes
Recognize a code on your display? Look it up before you unplug anything or attempt a repair.

Why Trust Us With Your Whirlpool Oven
- Measured, Not Assumed | The suspected oven component is put on a meter and shown to have failed before we recommend replacing it.
- Common oven Parts On Board | The parts that fail most often travel with the technician; anything rarer is ordered on the spot and the return visit is scheduled before we leave your home.
- Isolated Before Anything Opens | The supply to your oven - power, water or gas - is shut off and proven dead before a panel comes away, and high-voltage and refrigerant circuits stay with the technician.
- We Check Coverage First | Where your oven looks like it may still sit inside manufacturer coverage, we flag it before quoting - work by anyone other than an authorized technician can put that coverage at risk.
