What F3E1 Means
F3E1 is Whirlpool's code for a possible problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring. It is the most commonly seen member of the sensor family on recent ranges.
Common Causes of F3E1
- Oven temperature sensor open or short circuit
- Damaged sensor harness
- Poor connection at the sensor plug
- Control board fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Allow the oven to cool completely. Switch the range off at the breaker for five minutes and restore power, then set a moderate bake temperature with an oven thermometer inside. If the oven overshoots, undershoots or trips the code again, stop cooking with it and arrange a diagnosis. The sensor is inexpensive but sits on live wiring behind the cavity.
