What F1-H Means
F1-H and F1-L on older Whirlpool ranges are documented as a possible problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring. The H and L suffixes indicate which way the reading went out of range, high or low.
Common Causes of F1-H
- Temperature sensor open (high reading) or shorted (low reading)
- Damaged sensor harness
- Connector corrosion
- Control board fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Let the oven cool, switch off at the breaker for five minutes and restore power. Test at a moderate temperature with an oven thermometer inside. If the code returns, stop using the oven for cooking and book a diagnosis: the sensor probe and its harness sit behind the cavity and rear panel with 240 volt wiring alongside.
