What F1 Means
On older Whirlpool ranges a plain F1 - without an E digit - is documented as a possible problem with the oven temperature sensor, the control, or the associated wiring. It is the pre-F#E# form of the same family of fault.

- Damaged sensor wiring inside the cavity wall
- Control board fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Let the oven cool fully, then power the range down at the breaker for five minutes and restore it. Run the oven at a moderate temperature with an oven thermometer inside and see whether it holds. If F1 returns, book a diagnosis. Sensor and control work on a range means 240 volt wiring behind the panels, so there is nothing safe to check beyond the reset.
