Self-clean is the hardest thing a domestic oven ever does, and on this generation it is the most common trigger for a service call. The cavity runs far above normal cooking temperatures, and marginal parts tend to fail at the end of that cycle.
If the door stays locked, give the cavity time to cool fully before assuming a fault – the lock will not release while the oven is hot. If a code is displayed afterwards, note it; it points a technician at the sensor, the lock motor or the control.
