What FCE1 Means
Whirlpool documents FC E1, FC E2 and FC E3 identically on connected ranges: the appliance could not connect to the router, with possible causes including connection time-out, poor signal strength, a failed router, the Wi-Fi module in the appliance, or the associated wiring. Cooking is unaffected.
Common Causes of FCE1
- Router offline, replaced or reconfigured
- Network password or name changed
- Weak Wi-Fi signal in the kitchen
- Wi-Fi module or wiring fault in the appliance
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the network side first: is the router powered and working, has the network name or password changed, and is the kitchen within reasonable signal range? Re-run the appliance setup in the Whirlpool app if anything changed. Then power the range down at the breaker for a minute and restore it. If it never connects, the Wi-Fi module may be at fault - that is a technician job, and the range cooks perfectly well without it.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- None for router checks and app setup.
- The module sits behind the console with 240 volt wiring.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
