Whirlpool groups this code with its induction pan-detection guidance: the published advice is to use only pots and pans made from ferromagnetic material suitable for induction. An induction zone heats the pan itself through a magnetic field, so a pan the field cannot couple to produces a fault rather than heat. F0E1 is the first of that family on Whirlpool induction cooktops.

Test your pan with a magnet: if a fridge magnet sticks firmly to the base, the pan will work on induction; if it slides off, it will not. Aluminium, copper and most glass or ceramic cookware will not work unless they have a bonded magnetic base. Check the pan is centred on the zone and is large enough for it - a small pan on a large zone may not be detected. Make sure the pan base is flat: a warped base lifts off the glass and breaks detection. If good induction cookware still triggers the code, switch the cooktop off at the breaker for five minutes, restore power, and book a technician if it repeats.
