What CL Means
CL is a maintenance reminder, not a fault. Whirlpool explains that it appears after 30 cycles to prompt you to run the Clean Washer cycle, and that it clears automatically once that cycle has been run or after three more normal cycles.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Empty the drum completely, add the tub cleaner your manual specifies to the correct compartment, and run the Clean Washer cycle. Do not add laundry - the cycle runs hot and is designed for an empty drum. While it runs, wipe the door seal on a front-loader, especially the underside fold where water and lint collect. Leave the door ajar between washes afterwards to let the drum dry, which is what keeps odours away.
