What F2E1 Means
Whirlpool is specific about F2E1 on electric cooktops: contamination on the keys - food, water or other build-up - may hinder the controls' responsiveness. It is a cleaning matter before it is anything else.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Switch the cooktop off and let the glass cool. Clean the key area thoroughly with ceramic cooktop cleaner, working the residue off rather than smearing it, and dry the surface completely. Pay attention to the seams around the printed keys where sugar and starch collect. If the code persists on a genuinely clean, dry panel, disconnect power at the breaker for five minutes; if it still returns, the touch module needs a technician.
