What F0E5 Means

F0E5 is the off-balance alert: the load is unbalanced or too large for the washer to spin safely. The machine reduces spin speed or stops rather than letting the drum hammer against the cabinet, which is why clothes can come out wetter than expected when this appears.

Common Causes of F0E5

  • One heavy item or a tangled bundle sitting on one side of the drum
  • Load too large, or a waterlogged bulky item
  • Washer not level, or feet not locked down
  • Suspension or dampening components worn on an older machine

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Pause or cancel the cycle and open the lid or door. Redistribute the load by hand so weight is even around the drum - a single heavy item such as a rug, a mattress protector or a bundle of towels that has migrated to one side is the usual culprit. Wash bulky items alone or pair them with a couple of smaller items to balance them. Check that the washer sits level and does not rock: a machine on an uneven floor will keep tripping this code no matter how well you load it.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • None for redistributing a load and checking that the machine is level.
  • Suspension rods, springs and dampeners are internal work for a technician.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
