What AirFilter Means
The air filter indicator on Whirlpool refrigerators fitted with an internal air filter is a maintenance reminder that the filter needs replacing. It has nothing to do with cooling performance and does not indicate a fault.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Locate the air filter cassette - usually on the rear wall of the fresh food compartment behind a small cover - and replace it with the type your model specifies. Reset the indicator using your manual's procedure, typically a press-and-hold on the relevant button. If odours are the reason you noticed it, also check for spoiled food, wipe the interior, and make sure nothing is blocking the air vents inside the cabinet.
