What Int Means
Whirlpool documents Int as meaning the cycle was paused or cancelled. It also notes something that worries people unnecessarily: the washer can take 20 to 30 minutes to stop spinning and drain, and Int stays on display during that time. The machine is finishing safely, not stuck.
Common Causes of Int
- Cancel or Pause pressed during a cycle
- Door or lid opened mid-cycle on models that cancel rather than pause
- Power interruption part-way through a cycle
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Wait. The drum needs to coast to a stop and the pump needs to clear the water, and the control will not accept a new cycle until that is done. Once the display clears, select the cycle you want and start again. If Int is still showing after half an hour with no drain sound at all, treat it as a drain problem and check the drain hose and pump filter with the machine switched off at the wall.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- None - waiting for the machine to finish its stop and drain is normal.
